What Can You Ask It?
Think of it as a knowledgeable friend who knows everything about our association and is available around the clock. Some things you might ask:
- When is the next Durga Puja? What should I expect?
- How do I get in touch with the association?
- Where are you on social media?
- How do I become a member? What is the fee?
- What events have already happened this year?
- What activities are there for kids?
It will respond directly — no redirecting you to another page, no vague answers. If it knows, it tells you. If it does not know, it says so honestly.
Ask in English or Bengali — Your Choice
The chatbot is fully bilingual. Use the toggle at the top of the chatbot to switch between English and Bengali (বাংলা). Type your question in either language and receive a response in the same language — including Bengali script.
Prefer to speak rather than type? There is a microphone button. Speak your question aloud in English or Bengali, and the chatbot will listen, understand, and reply. The response can also be read aloud to you at the touch of a button.
The chatbot understands natural, conversational language. You do not need to use special keywords or commands — just ask the way you would ask a person.
What It Knows — and What It Does Not
The chatbot is built entirely around the content of our own website. It knows our events, our history, our contacts, our social media, and our community activities. It does not browse the internet, search for restaurants, give directions, or answer anything outside the scope of our association.
This is intentional. A focused assistant gives more accurate, more relevant answers than a general one. You are talking to someone who knows our community deeply, not a search engine.
How It Works — in Plain Language
Without going into technical detail, here is the simple version:
- It reads our website. All content from our website is collected and kept as a structured knowledge base that the chatbot draws from.
- It finds what is relevant. When you ask a question, it identifies which parts of that knowledge are most relevant to what you asked.
- It generates a response. An AI language model reads the relevant content and writes a clear, conversational answer — in your chosen language.
- It stays honest. The response is always grounded in actual content from our website. It does not invent information.
- It is secure. Your conversation is not stored. The system is built with standard security practices so that no sensitive credentials are ever visible on your screen.
This approach — retrieving relevant knowledge before generating a response — is what researchers and practitioners call Retrieval-Augmented Generation. The association’s chatbot uses this pattern to stay accurate and to the point.

This chatbot was independently designed and developed by an individual member of our association as a personal contribution to the community. We are genuinely grateful for this initiative and are happy to feature it on our platform. The association warmly acknowledges the effort — and equally, the code, its architecture, and its ongoing upkeep belong entirely to the individual who built it. The association does not hold responsibility for the technical implementation or operation of the chatbot.
